Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Do you offer sessions which are online or face-to-face?

From 18th August 2025 for a while I will have online availability only, if you wish to get in contact- by email or mobile.

*Face to face sessions will become available from the end of the summer and start of the autumn- more information to follow.

2. I see some counsellors and psychotherapists offer an initial session for free- do you?

The initial session is the same price as a regular 50 minute session- £50

3. Can we come to you for Couples’ counselling?

I work with individuals only, aged 16 and over. However individual sessions can have an impact on all relationships so please get in touch to discuss possibilities further.

4. What can I expect in the initial session?

Usually I ask what brings you to seek support, we go over the contract together and I take a detailed history. if we both feel comfortable working together then we take it from there.

5. How long do clients come for?

This can depend on whether you come with one particular issue or several, you might not even know what you are seeking until we’ve had a few sessions. I find that if you’re open and curious to find out more about yourself and your relationships then it takes the time it needs to.

6. How often are sessions?

I usually advise sessions on a weekly basis as this helps a consistent flow, you may likely notice things changing in this way of working. In cases where a client has been coming regularly for some months we might want to talk about fortnightly sessions.

7. Are sessions confidential?

Yes they are, however if you were to share information about your own welfare or that of others this would have to be breached; I would seek your consent before doing this. In supervision I discuss my process but this personal details are anonymised and the intention is to support my reflective ways of working so I can help you in the best way.

Please feel free to get in contact with me if you have further questions about what I offer
